Advocate Medical Group (now Advocate Health) – Lake Villa Outpatient Center

For the greater part of a decade, Boldt has served as part of an Integrated Lean Project Delivery® (ILPD) team for the master planning, design and construction for the Advocate & Dreyer clinics, medical office and ambulatory facilities in the Greater Chicago Metropolitan area. This team was formed to help transform the Advocate and Dreyer clinics delivery of ambulatory care. To date, the team has completed more than two dozen projects together.

Located in Lake Villa, Illinois, the new single-story, 21,000 SF outpatient clinic includes rooms for exams, procedures, mammography, general radiology, cardiology stress / echo testing, ultrasound, and a laboratory for blood draw and testing. The clinic also includes a number of support spaces, including offices, conference rooms, a staff break room, and workspaces.

The facility is unique in that all 29 interior rooms, with the exception of the lobby, were fully volumetric modular, constructed off-site in Boldt’s prefabrication facility. All in-wall plumbing, electrical, ceiling grid, lighting and HVAC diffusers were put in place prior to the modules being shipped to the project site. The roof structure is similarly made of prefabricated trusses, assembled into modular roof areas. In total, approximately 90% of the entire facility was modularized and prefabricated off-site
