Fox River Navigational Systems Authority – Kaukauna Locks

Fox River Navigational Systems Authority - Kaukauna Locks - View from Above

This project provided the design and construction to restore the Kaukauna Locks 1, 2 and 3, the dam and lock system and the lock tender buildings. These locks are part of the Fox River Navigational System (FRNS) and completion of these locks was a key step toward the goal of “Unlocking the Fox” and returning the river to its former glory for recreational and business boating.

The FRNS is listed on the National Historic Register. The Boldt Company, along with the state historical society, worked together to maintain the historic fabric of the existing facilities. Renovation included stone masonry, cast-in-place concrete, timber construction and restoration of lock gate door function, all of which were completed in accordance to the project historic survey and plan.
